The work of the RDI is at the cutting edge of the emerging field of pharmacogenomics - tailoring drug therapy for the individual patient on the basis of genetic information. In addition, the formation of a network of scientists and physicians and a not-for-profit organization around the principles of free sharing of data and free access to the services is a new paradigm.
